I purchased this 2004 Ford Lightning in February of 2011 from Piehl Motors in Princeton, IL. It had 32, 005 miles on it when I received it and I paid $20, 500.00 for it and as far as I know I'm the second owner. I did talk to the previous owner and he was a 68 year old retired gentleman who worked for the Illinois Road Dept.
I drove the truck back to Denver without any problems, a trip of about one thousand miles. I then used the truck to drive back and forth to work for one year. In February of 2012 I purchased a new Ford Ranger and the Lightning has been garaged since then only starting and very short drives to keep it going.
The Lightning now has 47, 283 miles on it. I did regular oil and filter changes every 3, 000 miles and used Castrol and Ford filters and I have all the records.
At 41, 409 miles I took the Lightning to a local car wash and their equipment puckered the front left tire so I replaced all four tires.
At 32, 998 miles I had the cooling system flushed and new Ford Gold antifreeze was replaced. At 46, 520 miles I serviced the transmission with new Ford fluid and filter. Also changed the rear end oil and replaced the front and rear brake pads using all Ford parts.
The Leer bed top was installed costing $1, 250.00 and I have the original vinyl cover and all the hardware. I did save two of the best original tires and I also have Weather Tec front mats and all this goes with the truck.
As far as I know the Lightning has never been in an accident, it's all original and unmodified. I'm seventy years old and I have never abused it and haven't has a traffic ticket on over thirty years.
